Let’s ignore the the “-_-” face. Yes, this IS a good thing. First off, the chances of there being absolutely NO gay superheroes is absolutely outrageous. Statistically speaking, it’s actually strange that it took them so long!
This doesn’t change a damn thing except for the fact that instead of being attracted to women, he’s attracted to men.
The storydoesn’t
fucking
change.
Next: let me address this:
Now, if you couldn’t actually get through that horrendous excuse for English, let me give you a quick summary.
“What if Captain America was gay? That wouldn’t look good for America. Gay marriage is okay but having gay superheroes be the face of something that future generations of young children read, is just not okay. If children see that their favorite superheroes are gay, they will think that they should also be gay. “
- If gay marriage is okay, why is it wrong to have gay superheroes? It doesn’t change anything. Think of your absolute favorite person in the whole world. Your real-life hero. Now, it turns out that this whole time they’ve been gay. Does this change your love for them? Does this change what they’ve done for you?
- This is what I got from that post. ”Dude… it’s totally cool if gays wanna get married, but you can’t be a hero…” Gay people can’t be heroes. Let’s think about the real world for a second. When rugby player, Mark Bingham helped wrestle control of United 93 from the hijackers on Sept. 11th, he helped saved thousands of lives. Guess what?! Mark Bingham is gay. Hold the phones everyone! That guy can’t possibly be a hero! He’s gay! Take away all recognition, people!
- We shouldn’t allow gay superheroes because if children read about it, they will think that they should be gay. This one made me laugh out loud.
I applaud the decision for DC to make a character gay but in all honesty, I actually wish that they would’ve chosen one of the “big 3.” Alan Scott is not actually that popular therefore not actually that controversial. He’s not even the most popular Green Lantern. He’s not even the THIRD most popular Green Lantern. “Outting” Batman or Superman would have been much more courageous.
Plus Superman’s hair is ALWAYS fabulous…So let’s be honest here. To you narrow-minded individuals this is all you’ve got:
June 2012
its horrible that there are people who can’t understand how horrible this is for some people.
i didn’t ask to be born both mentally and physically female (thankfully I was though because I love being/and know I was always meant to be a woman), just as there are women out there who were born…
No one chooses their gender, their gender chooses them. A person’s “right” gender is the one they identify with. End of story.
The only harm comes when someone else forces them to outwardly enact the wrong gender. In other words, you’d be the one at fault if you forced your trans* child to be something they weren’t. Genitals have no bearing on gender. Get that through your thick head.
Ye Banks and Braes
Ye banks and braes o’ bonnie Doon,
How can ye bloom sae fresh and fair?
How can ye chant, ye little birds,
And I sae weary, fu’ o’ care!
You’ll break my heart, you warbling bird,
That wantons thro’ the flowering thorns!
Thou minds me o’ departed joys,
Departed, never to return.
Aft hae I rov’d by bonnie Doon
To see the rose and woodbine twine;
When ilka bird sang o’ its luve,
And fondly sae did I o’ mine;
Wi’ lightsome heart I pu’d a rose,
Fu’ sweet upon its thorny tree!
But my fause luver stole my rose -
And, ah! he left the thorn wi’ me.

You’re very welcome. :)
So happy that normally I am able to watch two men kissin on my TV (at least on this glorious channel, altho they cut it in this ep which pissed me off, I saw Jack and John make out here before as well as Jack and Jack. I’m more likely to believe it was a coincidental cut for this channel. however, they went to commercial just before and came back right after so that has me suspicious that it was done deliberately), unlike for Australian fans of Nagron (from Spartacus: Vengeance) who apparently had their episodes censored from anything gay-related. wtf. u can watch a guy get his jaw ripped off but not two men kissing for barely a minute??? disappointed in you Aussie TV. *shakes head*

Feel free to add on your own :) (Especially the Stopwatch scene, beginning of Small Worlds and the end of S2 Finale)
Thank you, darlin’. :)
The link to the theme is at the very top of the description on our page. :D
Does anyone have a gif of the second Nagron kiss, the one that got censored on Australian television? If so could I use it to do a post asking for people to go to the GO! network post for the episode and ask why they decided to censor a very tame, extremely loving kiss between two men.
I think we could get this to go viral and shine a spotlight on this causal form of censorship that says ONE kiss between to men is okay, but lord forbid it become a trend. Please help by donating a gif of the scene so that we can demonstrate that similar types of kisses between hetero couples are common place and never censored.
Thanks.
